Tow rope accident

So the other day me and my friend were at our hill going up the rope and saw what could have been a really bad accident on the tow rope. Some kid probably about 14 or so was going up with only one binding on, I guess he was heading in and some people take off one binding at the bottom before they head up. Anyways he accidentally leaned to far back (goofy rider and the rope was on his back side)and did a back flip over the rope. Somehow the rope got caught in between his legs and board and he was now stuck on the rope upside down. The rope did have that cord so when something like the does happen it shuts the power off, however the momentum carried him all the way to the top of the rope shack and smoked it pretty hard, still upside down. Me and my friend were shocked and i strapped off trying to get to the kid as fast as possible because he was still hung up on the rope about 10 feet high hanging by his feet. As i started running towards him i was going to try to hold him up while someone detached him from the rope but as i got 15 feet to him he fell. This kid landed right on his neck from a 10 foot drop and to make things worse there was a old top of a park box right under where he fell. When he landed i was just shocked and was sure that i just witnessed someone break their neck so the first thing i asked him when i got their was where were you hurting? He was crying and couldn't breath good. Luckily he only got the wind knocked out of him. He is one lucky kid.

It's weird how someone can get injured really badly from just slipping or something and then something like this happens and they come out fine.
