Most wax is 80-90 percent parfin and 20-10 percent the secret mojo...e.g. steric acid, graphite, wetting agents, goat turds and etc. Its ALOT cheaper to make your own...for $10 you'd have enough wax to last 4-5 years.

Got 4 free good sized all-temp bars of wax from my last sb order and then just double boiled (water bath...to prevent a hydro-carbon fire on the wife's stove....she was at work) in 2 old cans. Mixed and melted 1 bar of all temp wax to 1/4 lb of parafin from the grocery store...$4.50/lb. Works great for my lowly skills and no noticed difference on the hill.

I'm not good enough to tell the difference in exotic waxes nor am I that obsessed. Am able to go 45-50 mph on homemade wax...which is fast enough for me. Also my hill is usually about the same range of temp all season and I'm a cheap sob that would rather spend money on lift tickets.
