Weird noise from board / snow?

It's hard to explain, kinda sounds like: "eeeerrerrrrrrerrerrrrrerrrrr"

Anyone ever hear this? and why does it happen? is it bad?

for example I hear / get this noise sometimes when I'm riding on my toe edge "elevatoring" down the mountain looking back up the hill at a friend or something. The noise comes from like pressure or something

I'm pretty sure that's just the pressure being exerted on the snow. When it's compressing, you can make a creeking noise. It can also be from wet snow moving across the bottom of your board. It just creates friction and you are hearing the resulting noise.

Why would it be bad? Like a broken board?

Noise

If all else fails, read The Exorcist backwards.

I'm pretty sure it's snow...assuming we're all hearing the same thing.

It could be your board flexing some. I used to always put my boots and board on in the house and just try to do really huge tail presses, and my board would always make a creaking noise from bending and flexing a lot. It could very well be the snow, or the bindings too. I'm pretty sure that it isn't a problem though.

It's just the snow squeaking. I notice it the most when it's cold on freshly groomed recent snow.

I notice it as well on cold days. Kind of like the snow is squeaking.

Don't go where the road leads, rather go where this is no road and make a trail.
