Rails really arent that hard if your just doing 5050's. When I first started doing 5050's I would just jump off to the side of the rail if I couldn't stay balanced. However, when I started learning frontside boardslides, I fell hundreds of times until I landed it
The very first time that I tried to hit a rail, I thought that it would be easier to do a board slide. So I go up to it and jump on, and right away I fall right back on the rail and landed on it on my butt. That was not a very good feeling lol. Since then I can now land 50/50's, FS and BS boardslides, and 50/50 180 off of rails and boxes. Today I ate it really hard on a box though and hit my Kidney haha. But yeah boxes and rails are my favorite thing in the park.
We has like a 6 ft. rail thats like 10 inches off the ground.
1st time: tried a 50-50, slid right off, but didn't fall
2nd time: tried a 50-50 again, and ended up doing what i think is a crooked nose slide. My board was diagonally lined up with the rail and only my left foot (Nose) was on the rail. Slid all the way and rode away I kept trying to make it into a nose slide and not crooked until it ended up being a boardslide. Unconventional way to learn but it worked
1st time i did one i landed a 50-50. thought i was cool stuff went for the boardslide and slammed my butt.
well from then i can do tons of tricks. 50-50. BS board FS board 270 on . 270 off (recently )
270 on to regular. FS boardslide to switch. 180 out 180 on. 180 to tail press. nose press. tail press 180 out.
