09/10 Season Highlights!

Whats going on everyone??? I live in New England so my season is done . this thread is for everyone to post and talk about thier season accomplishments, funny stories, or anything they liked about this season. feel free to talk about things that got you angry aswell! everyones welcome.

I hope this isnt a repeat thread, i looked but didnt see one like this.

let me start!
I had a decent season. i bought a Flow Quantum and i love it, and my girlfriend bought me brand new burton triads!!! she's a keeper haha. for christmas i got some trick tip videos from SnowboardAddiction.com and now my 360s are clean and stylish so thats pretty cool. in early march i went shredding with my friend at Mt. Snow and thanks to him, i almost landed some 720s! i got the rotation but couldnt stomp the landing . it's a really odd feeling to continue spinning after the first 360. i didnt get a chance to go up again before they closed yesterday which is a bummer. theres always next year though!

Oh, and im going the Windells Snowboard Camp in August!!! So stoked for it.

Your Turn!

still many weeks left out here too .... the snow has been soso and not too many huge pow days but still a fun year. Was able to push myself and really get some good stuff this year. Had a few of those "standing at a chute about to puke im so scared" moments but pulled through and got that rush that makes it all worth it. started my shitty blog, took some rides with shayboarder and agnarchy, won a rome agent yesterday ... fun season all around ... if only Angry had come out here instead of bear that would have been icing on the cake but I know well hook up eventually (non sexually of course)

Living in the Mid-Atlantic, one has to work for an extended season. I'm on my way back out to SLC on Friday morning. 3 More days at the Bird (probably do a little hiking) will pretty-much cap-off my season. My days have been few, but lots of good solid riding.

Burrito, the trash stash that you speak of in Utah will be a pot-of-gold compared to what I saw in the east This year. I got my powder thirst quenched in Tahoe so this weekend is all about grooving and cruising....hopefully the sun is shining and the world is a happy place. C'mon no INversioN!

Season Highlight......The Pre-Easter Dumping that took place at Squaw and Kirkwood.

Rode 20 days this year at 12 different resorts in 5 different states. I like variety and I like quality! (and my American Express card likes me)

Well my season is pretty much over. I might try to hit Mt Hood one more time before they close in the following weekends but it's a 4 hr drive from my home and I really doubt I'll have the money.

The best part of my season was the fact that it was my first season of snowboarding (or any winter sports for that matter). I'm extremely happy with where I am at progression wise for my first season. I feel comfortable hitting small to medium jumps and even landed my first 180 a month or so ago. I feel a LOT more stable and comfortable at high speeds and have no problem hitting up diamond runs.

Considering I have no background to support snowboarding (such as skating, or surfing, ect) I feel I progressed quite fast.

I hate the fact that I have to wait till next season to continue boarding and I really hope I don't lose much of my knowledge during summer.

To sum up my season: 25+ days of riding (all daily lift tickets )spread among 4 different resorts over 2 different states. I really don't think I could have asked for a better first season.

Season Highlight: The first time I landed a good size jump. It probably wasn't anything great by most peoples standards but I still felt pretty badass.

i work as a freestyle coach at mt snow so i had a pretty fun season overall playing around in their parks. i learned a bunch of new tricks including switchback and cab 5s, backs 5s with a couple back 7s and i landed my first front 1080 at the biggest jump at northstar when me and my girlfriend went out there in march for a little vacation. i mainly stayed at mt snow this year but on top of visiting northstar i also got to ride heavenly for the first time and went back to nationals at copper in early april which was a blast. right now im pushin 120 days this season
im supposed to be going to windells sometime in the summer with the group i coach for so hopefully that happens.

Every season gets better than the last in my opinion.

This year was pretty epic, tons of progression and met a ton of cool people this year. I thought around this part of my life (31 years old) that the progression would slow down but if anything it's getting better. 16 years on the snow and this was the best. No major injuries this year other than a busted knee-cap, a ton of days on the snow too. I admit I'm a bit superstitious so the not getting hurt thing has me a little worried for next year.

As far as specifics go, did pretty darn good in boardercross (4th overall). Our resort doesn't have hips built much but we had one and I've never felt so comfortable just skying off that thing, love the feeling, kept hitting it faster and faster. Last day of the season was more fun than anything I've done, killer rail session and the biggest highlight was making it across the 75 foot long water pit!

09/10 = pure fun.

If we get a good powder day next year I'm trying corks, this year we had a session at a giant sled hill close to me because the roads were terrible and built probably the biggest sled hill jump ever, lol. Seriously it was a little scary riding up to. Perfect soft landings, don't know why I didn't try corks then, I have the spinning down fine just need to huck a bit. Something to look forward to next year Came back later but it was being torn down by a ranger, must've taken him a long time
