why were people on the lift!? keystone closes their lifts at half this speed.

They said it was micro bursts so it probably wasn't very windy until all of a sudden...

And a lift bogs down in much slower winds, I would imagine those winds would both stop the lift and make it even more dangerous if it was moving.

No was in hell would those employees leave those people on the lift if they could get em off

Damn.

I lived in florida for a few years and have been through 4 hurricanes (the 4 that hit within 6 weeks) and I can't even imagine being on a chairlift in the winter with winds like that. Had to be brutal no matter what they were wearing. Hell, rain at those kind of speeds feels like needles, the ice/snow had to just burn the skin.
