Waxing Tip

Thought I would share a tip I have been using on my boards as well as my buddies skis for the last few seasons that provide a professional looking slick finish. After putting a hot coat on and scraping it off, I finish the job by taking a Scotch Bright pad and sticking it to the bottom of my Black and Decker Mouse Sander. I then make long passes up and down the base until it is nice and slick. After I'm finished, the bottom looks just like it did from the factory.
The bottom of the sander is velcro, so the Scotch Brite pad sticks to it easily. This definitely makes waxing easier and it looks like a professional job. I think I paid less than $20 bucks for my sander at Walmart.

I've owned a sander for well over a year and have yet to have a use for it. Until now that is.

that would shorten my wax lab session, and therefore the amount of beer consumed during waxing. No good :)

Haha! Agreed!

At the beginning of the season I waxed all four of my boards in one night. I was pretty near shitfaced by the time I was done.

+1 on scrubbies, I don't use a sander but using them by hand makes for an excellent finish. It's also good for smoothing out those tough to get spots where the scraper just wont get into that little dent in the base.
