I did R&D + Instructing for a decade. I've worked for Marketing at two different ski areas. I started an on-line/retail shop.
But at 41 with three kids: I'll settle for just a seasons pass and a flexible job that allows me to ride when I fell like I need to ride. Doing what you Love for a living is awesome, until your passion burns a hole in you. This dynamic of love/control is intense. So I'd say love it, and do it to your best ability. But don't get frustrated if others don't see it the same as you do, and if somebody tries to stop you from doing it, find a way around them. Just be happy doing what you do and love. Haters can step off... ![]() Areas that can burn you out: Poverty Lack of a significant other Just Compensation (see poverty) Lack of Respect (pecking order) Narrow mindedness (dumb tourists, boss) Lust and Greed (feeling like others have dope gear and you got the swag) Acceptance, Validation, and Recognition Low Tide (no snow) Rent "Aspen Extreme" it pretty much sums it up.
