Buying Wax, or trying to - Snowboarding Forum

Hey forum!
Anyways I'm on daddies board shop trying to buy 750g of OneBallJay Wax for like 40.00$ but the shipping to Canada is like 25$ do you guys think at that point in time it's worth buying or should I try to just buy smaller sticks in town? So the question I guess is it still a good deal? I'm also buying my metal scraper too... and how long do you guys think 750g of all temp wax will last (ie, number of waxes)

Just go to your local ski shop, you should be able to get that much wax for 25 bucks in the first place. That's the best deal. Also, metal scrapers are not necessary, a sharp, right-angled plastic one should do the trick just fine. Also, when it gets dull you can just take a file to the side and re-establish the edge. Buy the smaller scraper, the big ones meant for snowboards are too big and not very maneuverable. And lastly, that much wax should last probably all season, at least 10 waxes, depending on how much you're going to apply, which shouldn't be that much (and therefore make the wax last longer).

Try looking at hertel hot sauce wax. You get more wax for less money. And personally I like it more than one ball jay.

By default these guys ship UPS. If you want brokerage up the ass then okay. Make sure if you do buy this wax that you ask for it to be shipped with another provider such as USPS which won't screw you with brokerage

Check on Canwax on ebay i've only heard good things about them and it's are made in Canada. You can get like 1.6 KG for $56 shipped to Canada or the US. They make 4 different kinds whcih ends and you can pick a total of 8 200g bars to make up your order so you can tailor it more to your conditions. They also have some cheaper options like 4 50g bars for like $9 + Shipping. Once I run out of the stuff i have right now i plan to pick up one of those 1.6kg deals.

Skiwax is the same stuff, get that and then get some 1ball wax when someone visits the states or what not if you really want it.
