We really want to do vail with me and my 9 friends however the cheapest we can find for jan 5th-9th is $800/night which is awful.. At breck or key we can find hotels for around $380/night that support 8-10 people. Does anyone know of any good hotels at vail that are within walking distance or right next to a shuttle going to the gondala or something for around $380/night..? If not guess well go to breck again.

I agree, VRBO is your best option......especially if you're looking to set 10 people up with lodging. If you're stuck on getting hotel room(s), try sidestep.com.

we went that week last year and stayed in the holiday inn for about 140/night. mcdonalds right next door, best restaurant/bar beside that in a strip mall that had a grocery store and a sports authority and a liquor store, a taco bell was right in front of that. it was pretty much perfect and it has a free shuttle that takes you to and from vail village. we booked it through expedia and got 3 day passes for 2 days price at vail.
