I got her this year's Roxy Ollie Pop, and she claims she is embarrassed to ride it because its a Roxy board. I was just excited because I'm high on Mervin after riding some of their boards at the end of last year. I kind of understand, but the tech in this board is sick..
What do you guys think? Would you be embarrassed to rock a Roxy board at the local mountain?
Roxy has a pretty good reputation around here, I've seen the ollie pop recommended often. All the girl friends I have love the Roxy graphics anyway actually so I'm not sure what there is to be embarrassed about?
Fiance....I think you're going to be buying her a lot more shit!
I hear the BJ's go out the window once its official, I suggest you get'em while you can!!
.....
1. What is wrong with Roxy
2. Who gives a rat's ass what anyone is riding on the mountain?
Really? She is one of the people lucky enough to be able to afford to go snowboarding and she's stressing over what some strangers might think about the logo on her board?
She sounds materialistic and insecure. I hope she makes good dough otherwise you're going to hear the same complaint from her every time you buy her anything that Beyoncé or Lady Gaga aren't wearing in public.
-EDIT-
To answer the question. Yes. I, a guy, would gladly ride down the mountain on a Roxy (a brand geared towards females). Maybe I am weird since I tend to care about how a board rides and holds up more than anything
Sounds pretty spoiled. I hope she at least appreciates that you got her a pretty kick ass gift. Nothing wrong with Roxy at all... one of the better female board brands out there.
I agree with everyone that hating on a board because of its logo is shallow as anything. I would love if my bf bought me the Ollie Pop. Plus I rock Roxy boots like no other-they're the only pair I've ever tried on that fit my slim feet.
I don't have a comment about the board, but I do have a suggestion that may prove helpful to you in the long run (this is coming from someone who's been married for a while). It's probably better not to ask open-ended questions in a public forum that will tend to expose your fiancee or wife to this sort of criticism. Even if she never sees it, or sees it and doesn't care, you'll end up feeling bad.
Don't roxy boards have magnetraction and reverse camber (bananatraction)? I would be stoked on that board if I was a chick.
