Typically around age three or older you can get away with teaching kids how to board. Be really careful though because if they aren't real active or have shown the ability to balance and comprehend taking direction like "stop!" I personnelly prefer to teach at age 5 or older, since it is more typical to have the mental, and physical development to board.
