Default wtf i dont get hungry when i go boarding

for example, i have a full meal around 9:30am, then drive to resort, board, drive back and i have another meal at 6:30PM. so for 9.5 hrs i didn't eat food except for 2 liters of juice (50% water mix). and the weird thing is that i never felt hungry. BUT if it was a normal day i will get hungry every 4 hrs or so. why is this? i thought i should get hungrier when i go board cuz i'm using more energy.

strange huh?

Adrenaline....

You need to make an effort to eat even if you don't want to. I ride with a pack and bring water and meal bars etc. One of these days you're going to have a big energy dump or become dehydrated.

Are you pretty young?

At 25, I used to have a light breakfast and start riding at 9am and not stop until 3pm. But I would be starving driving back from the mountain and hit a mcdonalds by 4. Ahh to be young. Adrenaline probably helps, its like when you're a kid and having fun all day and don't even think about eating.

I try and eat a good size breakfast before going snowboarding because I know I wont eat while on the mountain. No matter how hard I try I can't eat on the mountain. I usually just get a Gatorade while my family/friends eat.

I usually don't get hungry at all when I board. Its when I sit down with my friends in the lodge do I get hungry and exhausted. Usually they start whining about their feet hurting or some shit and they HAVE to go sit in the lodge. Its like boarding with a bunch of cripples.

When I snowboard, I like to eat a decent sized breakfast, skip lunch and just have a quick snack instead. Eating a bunch of food in between riding makes your body go into digestion mode, making you sleepy and lethargic, at least it does to me. I'm also not a mellow snowboarder, I get at least 15-20 2000' vertical feet runs in a day. I'd rather be bombing then hanging out in the lodge.
