Myself, trial and error.

''Align hips to shoulders and turn with your hips'' took it for what it was worth and applied it.

Coming from a ski background so everything wasn't all that new to me which made it easier I'm assuming.

I took a lesson. I didn't perform well at all and took forever to make it down a bunny hill. I went a few weeks later and figured it out the 2nd day of my trip. But I think was just trying to hard the first day instead of relaxing my legs and body.

alone.

I'm not really the lessons type guy when it comes to anything really. I skated for years before trying snowboarding though.

Watched some beginner videos online (maybe 3 or 4)

Learned how to stop and hold an edge on a steep ass slope (which is a necessity when you're teaching yourself at Jackson Hole).

Sat down for a few minutes and watched what other snowboarders were doing coming down Casper run. One guy was carving edge to edge with some really extreme lean angle. That made it 'click' and gave me something to work towards. Been learning ever since. Still not as good as that guy I saw that one day, but with luck I will get there.
