Well, I went riding last night with knowledge of a torn Meniscus and a large cyst in my femur. I took it easy and didn't do anything stupid to risk a fall and further injury. But, I had to try the new board I'd ordered just before the pain started. A few things to note about what I felt on the slopes.
- chop hurts. Really setting an edge and carving through the chop did not hurt.
- stopping heel side ( I ride regular and my right / rear knee is the messed up one) hurt alot on anything but smooth snow.
- stopping toe side was much better than heelside
- riding switch was much better
- buttering and tail presses hurt alot
- ollies hurt alot
- landing on slopes felt ok actually - landing on flat was miserable
- initiating a spin was painful
I mostly went out to prove to myself that it was a bad idea to book a trip for the end of the season. I proved to myself that anything but easy carving runs down groomers was very painful.
