Nuts! I've always wondered how they rope people down off of a broken chair.

This same thing happened while I was at Gunstock a few years ago...fortunately I wasn't on the lift but some people were stuck on it for 6 hours...and all they got was a cup of hot chocolate...they should have at least been given a ticket voucher. Fuck Gunstock.

Six hours!!! Jesus! I would consider Ollie-ing off the damned chair after that long.

I can't believe they lowered them with their boards still on. Getting to the snow then blowing your knee out slipping on your board with a metal seat between your legs would be horrible.

Do you work on one chair at a time or are there a few teams working on several chairs at once?

I'm suprised they didn't loose the gear before lowering them down.

If a chair looses a drive gear, wouldn't you have to evacuate every chair? That could be dozens of evacs! I guess that's why it can take 6+ hours to get everyone off.

I'm flashing a wad of $20 bills at the rescuers if that ever happens to me.

I like the way the first guy who was rescued strapped in and rode away without so much as a backward glance at the other person still hanging up there. "So long, pal! Hope you make it down someday!"

Now I know, I wondered this myself and just hope it's never me.
I always liked repeling but not this way.
