Base Rash - Snowboarding Forum

Just wondering if this is normal wear and tear. I have a 09/10 skate banana. I have had it out around fifteen times this season, and wax it about every three to four times out. the last waxing i noticed that the base was starting to look rough and pitted on the heal side edge. Now after anther three days it is really looking worn and slightly lower than the edge. I can feel the edge sticking up a little from where the base has worn off. it is only on my heal side of the board and runs most of the length. I have not seen this happen on any of my other boards. Has anyone else experienced this?

Anyone know anything about this? Is it a lib tech thing? is it a defect? I love the board but if this is what happens to Lib Tech's bases after fifteen days on the mountain, I will be going with a different brand next time. I looks as if the base wasn't manufactured correctly.

It could be a defect. It could also be a big patch or rust from not drying the board before storage.
Idk, call lib tech up and tell them about your problem. See what they can do for you
