I'm thinking of getting a helmet cam (GoPro or Countour) and the one thing I'm worried about is the battery life in extreme cold. I attempted to film a top to bottom run at Snowbird last week with my Moto Droid 2 in my hand and the fully charged battery froze on me in like 4 minutes while filmings. I think temps were in the teens plus wind chill...

I have used GoPro for recording in -17 or -18 C temperatures. worked fine and didnīt notice the battery life was shorter than usual. Battery life doesnīt last very long anyway - about 2h recording when fully charged. Basically, you have to keep switching it on and off during the day.
