So I've been watching some stuff from x games and I see the part in the beginning where it's like the colour washes over the screen. it's kinda retro and i want to know what it's called. as long as i know what it's called then i can probably search it up and find out.

or, more accurately, "a seizure-inducing flash of orange light thingy"

haha i know it's a transition but i don't know what it's called!! "a seizure-inducing flash of orange light thingy" is exactly what it is but im sure there's a specific name for it. :P

There's no specific name for it. It's a transition stylized to look like a film change. You can probably mock one up in Photoshop.
