Hi guys,
So I recently picked up some new gear and I rode with it last weekend and this weekend that just passed. Everything is great except that towards the end of the day, I start to get a pretty brutal pain in the toes of my front (left) foot. At first I thought maybe the boots were too small (theyre 9.5 and my toes just gently touch the inside of the toe) so I had heel lifts put in, and it seemed to pull my toes back just a little bit. The boots are Burton Ozone's and theyre great, but both days so far I've had this pain towards the end of the day, ESPECIALLY when turning heelside. I was thinking maybe its the angle of my bindings or something? I ride at +15*, 0* regular. Any ideas? It has ended both days early for me so far.

hmm.
With your back foot at zero it doesn't seem as likely that the angles are causing the problems. Maybe it has something to do with where your toe strap is comming accross the boot. Maybe it is creating a pressure point. Since the front foot stays in the binding all of the time by the end of the day the pressure might be getting to you. |

id say thats a possibility, but last weekend the only lift open was a stand-up so I had to take unstrap completely each time. Also, Im very careful not to overtighten my toe straps since they WILL pinch if theyre too tight..and idk, it really happens when i turn heelside, i feel alot of pressure on my toes and sometimes the pain is so much that i cant hold that edge and i end up sliding out.

Well try turing that front foot a little bit. Maybe increase the angle first.
Also try messing around with your boots some at home. Throw them on and walk around and see if you can create any pressure points. Maybe it is something simple like the liner is crossed over funny. |

would you suggest turning the front foot outward more or inward? Is my riding stance weird to begin with?
im just frustrated because i feel like this stupid equipment problem is ending my days early and holding me back from improving more. i was progressing to some small jumps, but the pressure i felt when landing (at the end of the day) was too painful.

well stance is very personal. It really comes down to what you like. It might even change as you progress as a rider. But To see if it is a pressure thing related to stance try angling it more out. Maybe instead of putting pressure on the outer side of your foot you can move the pressure to be on top of the foot.
Also switching bindings might not hurt either. You're just going to have to experiment a bit. It might come down to a boot issue. Maybe the shape just doesn't go well with your foot. who knows. |

Yeah honestly that is really all you can do. If you start experiencing pain while not riding though then it might be time to have someone look at the thing.
Also the points system is apparently not really used any more. I guess back in the day you could get stuff by spending points or something. There seems to be some system of gaining points per post depending on the thread and how many times you posted in it or how frequently and then you loose points as time goes with out activity but don't worry about it. It is not used for anything any more. |
