Does anyone else purposely avoid taking "one more run?" As a carry-over from skateboarding, I never take a last run. When I feel like I'm done for the day, I pack up and head home. There is no "one more," because that's when shit happens...wipeouts, injuries, stuff like that.

i always take "one more run", but that usually ends up as my second to last run, then i take another "one more run". its an endless cycle till im pleased, or till my legs give out and i injure myself........ go hard or go home?

I usually have a set time that I want to leave by but if it gets close to that time and I'm still having too good of a time, then it can easily get pushed back an hour or two. I almost never leave while still wanting "just one more."

if only i didnt take that "one more run" my friends wouldn't have been eaten by wolves.
but on a serious note, when i was riding easy in feb with a fractured leg we saw a friend riding up on my last run. so we decided to go on one more and that's when i re-injured my leg. usually when i leave without taking that last run i feel more excited for the next time i go boarding. |

i will admit that a month ago we had a weekend at mountain creek...the lifts close at 10, at 9:45 we were wasted and standing on the patio when we decided to go for one more run..it was sometime on the chair lift, in the dark, drunk off my ass, the 3 of us without phones, that i realized perhaps one more run wasnt the best idea.. and it was total ice when we got off the lift lol

I don't have enough self-control normally, so I have to set a quitting time and stick to it. And as others have said, it's the "one last run" where you injure yourself, probably because you're thinking about that instead of about keeping the board down and the head up.

My head always wants one more run, but I let my legs make the decision nowadays. Too many of the things that hurt next day happen on the last run.
Unless it's a bluebird, post-storm powder day, then I always take a long, lazy cruiser and drink it all in. |
