Default Snurfing - What's up with that?

Who here is down with snurfing and what does it do for you compared to snowboarding?

It's a completely different feel than riding with bindings, one that has had me as excited for fresh powder as I ever have snowboarding.

I'm curious how many snowboarders are interested in it and why. I started a blog, documenting what I see and like about this resurgence of bindingless riding.

Snurfers Journal

Do you see snurfing as a weak version of snowboarding, or a way to keep the stoke alive when big ticket prices, travel, time, or whatever else keeps you away from hitting the ski hills? Thanks for the feedback. Wishing you big dumps and grins.

Noboarding seems fun enough. I am not really into it myself, but I have no problems with it either.

Seems cool. I just can't imagine wanting to do that over riding a reg snowboard out of bounds.

I know that me attempting to "snurf" would likely result in howls of laughter from anyone lucky enough to witness the event.

no experience with it but to me it looks like the ultimate way to ride powder.

whatever. as long as the lifts will let you on and its not going to drop on someones head on the way up, or kill someone on the way down, ride it.

there was a dude at my local hill with a skate deck on 3" standoffs on top of a wide ski. No straps. He rode it well, even had a little tether to keep it from flying off his leg. pretty fun watching him...just waiting for that moment when the speed got too scary and he would bail, but he took it down a steeper green circle slope going about 20 mph...
