Default Building a box

I am going to be building a box, and as I was searching through the forums I saw that someone had given the idea of using velcro to fasten the top sheet to the frame of the box. I think this is what I will do, but I'm not sure what size HDPE to use. Do I need to use 1/4" or does the size even matter since I will not be needing to counter sink any screws?

If i were you i would not use velcro. The weather will probably wear it down after a while. On top
Of that, it would cushion you and give way when u jump on the box. You want a solid peiece to slide across. Also, if you wouldnt wanna use 1/4 with velcro b/c its so this that the hdpe will be bumpy due to the velcro pressing on the surface. In that case, youd want 3/4 and since you need that you might as well countersink it anyway. Its the best way to go
