Hey guys, in Indiana where I live our season starts out around mid December which means I have around 3.5 months till snowboarding season. So I was just looking for some suggestions on what I should be doing to get in shape for the season? I am planning on running to get up my endurance level and strengthen my legs, and I will also be doing situps, crunches, push-ups, pull-ups to just get an overall body workout. But is there anything in particular that would really help me be a better boarder when it comes time to get back out on the snow? Anything I should focus on while working out? Thanks

cross-fit, mtn athlete or gym jones will get you in shape for the winter and looking good for the ladies. I know cross-fit is main stream now so you can go to a gym and have a coach show you how to do everything. Also go to a tumbling class sounds fruity I know but it will really help, just make sure it is with trampolines.

I cant really afford to go to a gym right now with having to buy the stuff for this upcoming season, anything I can focus on at home? I have decided to start getting on my trampoline with my snowboard to practice being in the air and getting the rotation feeling for 180s do you have any suggestions on how I could use that to help me get ready to try 180s on the snow?

imo
the only thing a trampoline will do, besides having fun.. will maybe help you learn to rotate better? at least you could get the feel of rotating. 180's don't take much effort to pull off. I just don't think being on a trampoline is anything like being on the snow. As for working out goes. I'd say lots of cardio, work out your core, and focus on your legs. Can you afford some dumbbells? There are tons of exercises you can do with them. Last edited by 209Cali; 08-27-2011 at 10:34 PM. |

Welcome to CrossFit: Forging Elite Fitness
free workouts on the page all you do is have to find some weights or join the ymca. It is cheap about 35 a month also if you are a student or make shit for money they will work with you on a price. |

I gotta wait a bit before I can hard core start training, I was starting to workout and I had started running but I just recently got pneumonia and I was in the hospital for 3 days
The doc says it will be around 3 weeks before I get completely back to normal, at least that will leave me with plenty of time to get ready before the season still.
