The Contour+ goes for $500 and although it has some new bells and whistles and a wider FOV, I'd probably save the money and just get the regular Contour or the GoPro.
I keep seeing it on Steepandcheap for $137.99, and have wanted to pull the trigger.

I got mine there or Whiskey can't remember for sure. At that price it's well worth it; HD POV on a budget FTW.

Not sure why someone would get the +
I think the + has some additional features like bluetooth compatibility so you can use your phone as a viewfinder, and a mic input jack so you can record better audio, etc. It also does 170 degree FOV and I think the + and regs only do 135.

I still think $500 is pretty steep.

After making my post I did some more research, and now want the +....

That thing is sick but I'm torn between the three price ranges. The HD being so cheap is super appealing, the GPS having the view finder and gps features is super appealing but the + has it all but you're gonna pay for it.. The fish eye lens is sick

The GPS is really cool but since I do 80% of my riding in Michigan it is of limited appeal to me, I'd only make use of it a few days a year when I'm out west. Or possibly on MTB trails in the summer. But I'd spring for it if I could get more use out of it.

Although I like the idea of bluetooth/phone viewfinder, I think this is also a feature that you're not going to use very often. Picture yourself riding with your iPhone in your hand using the viewfinder. Not. Gonna. Happen. Might be OK for setting up stationary shots, but that's about it.

I figured the viewfinder would be sweet to set yourself up at the beginning of the shred day, or after hitting some tree limbs.... Or even after taking a digger and having to re-establish your shots.

My Tachyon ended up being a piece of shit and you couldn't see if you were even shooting the right angles.... I brought home a couple videos that were shit and then the clip on the camera itself broke, rendering it useless for any mounts.
