As far as the contour goes, can't help you with reviews of it as I've never used it, but keep an eye on chainlove.com, they recently had it for $135 |

Contours are weaker than GoPro's. Mine broke the red clip that keeps the battery in while you charge/upload from it when I dropped it from my counter to my kitchen floor. My roommate had his get moisture inside the lens the first day he used it. I'll be doing a side by side comparison of GoPro, contour, and drift later this month on the site.

I think the GoPro has the edge over the Contour in terms of functionality and ability to take abuse. The Contour is sleeker and doesn't look as dorky and is noticeably lighter. Here's my side-by-side comparison. The regular contour is being blown out right now for under $150 as much as I like the idea of GPS, I don't think it's worth 2x as much as the regular. The Contour+ goes for $500 and although it has some new bells and whistles and a wider FOV, I'd probably save the money and just get the regular Contour or the GoPro.

I'm going to grab the Contour GPS, as both the goggle strap attachment and the ability to preview the shot on my iPhone appeal to me more than the GoPro. Colours I can mess around with in Final Cut once I'm back home.

I have only used my GoPro late in the season but I found in Spring sun there is an issue with white balance. Have tried all the different settings with no luck. All of my movies are washed out.
