I think the safety of any sport is really dependent on the skill of the sportsman/woman, I am sure if I used a frozen pumpkin on each foot I could eventually get good enough to grind a rail.

In the skiboard world, what little of it there is, releasable bindings are a safer choice, but since those things are so short I don't think it would be an issue.

Not really, the design of these is inherently dangerous. This isn't like an "oh there is a risk to any activity" kind of thing. The design is so basically flawed that serious injury is inevitable. Your pumpkin analogy is good. Strap two to your feet and proceed down a snowy incline. Now see how easy it is to keep your legs from wish boning. That is basically what these things are, only I doubt they have the secondary function of making a tasty pie. Watch the the video, rarely any steeps and no real air, because the product can't handle it. Innovation is great, being a straight up kook isn't. You could innovate and make a gun small enough for a baby's hands...doesn't mean you should.

I see abosolutley no advantage to these over a normal snowboard, unless you want it to be easy to get down the bunny slope. They are less stable than a snowboard, look to be harder to ride, and pretty dangerous.

absolutely the dumbest thing to happen to winter sports ever. There is NO point these things. They can do LESS than ski boards if that was even possible, and they just look awkward as hell and an accident waiting to happen. I dont give a rats ass if someone is "having fun with them" i will walk up to you, tell you how fucking stupid you are, have you take them off or i will take them off for you, and i will then Frisbee them as far down the mountain into the forest as i can possibly can, and hopefully remove another abomination from our beloved mountain. God i am sick of the stupidest shit coming out of the wood work, and its getting worse and worse. /endrant
