Best Resort for a Thanksgiving Trip? - Snowboarding Forum

I'm looking for a place on the west coast that is going to have the best snow and the most open runs/lifts for thanksgiving weekend - anything in CO would be ideal but most mtns there aren't looking very open.

Another failed elementary/middle geology student....Colorado is not west coast...it is rocky mountians

Well, Vermont is considered an east coast mountain state and is not exactly on the Atlantic either.

Edit: Sometimes us east coasters lump everything west of the Mississippi as west coast, and in the words of Rodney Dangerfield, "Hey, no offense!"

This... I'm from new york. I understand that considering CO to be the west coast may be incorrect but I was also including states like California, Colorado was just where I thought I'd be going to this time of year.

Heh, just FYI: the distance between Chicago and New York is less than the distance between San Francisco and Denver.

Unfortunately, Tahoe hasn't been getting much snow this month, but a lot of the resorts are scheduled to open during the Thanksgiving holidays.

there are several resorts open in CO, but we have yet to get serious coverage, and as such, the mountains are opening terrain slowly, bit by manmade bit.

point being nowhere is epic yet. its only get out, get some turns in. if you want kickers, breck has 3, a-basin and keystone just have rails/jibs, not sure about loveland.

Good luck going to summit county it'll be packed as fuck. Steamboat opens this weekend go there.

Soo would that include Pennsylvania?

However got some nice riding this weekend on the REAL West Coast and my legs are spent.

Just changed my thanksgiving plans last night.

No more Colorado. Heading out to UT and riding Brighton and Snowbird. You can never go wrong with Utah snow. It cost a lot to switch the trip but it will be worth it if we get 10+" of fresh for Friday!
