Our hill has human ticket checkers with electronic scanners. Would be very easy to lend out a pass to someone, they don't do much face checking, I think I saw them make some kid take of their face mask once so far.

I did that job one year before the electronic checks, so boring!

Mt. Bachelor uses a system in which the pass holder's photo appears on a big monitor above the gates as the reader scans your pass. People busted for fraud attempts get a free ride to town in the back of a Sheriff's vehicle. That would suck.

Wow that seems pretty extreme. I mean i understand it falls under the context of stealing, but its not like the mountain really loses that much over one person getting a free day. Hell my mountain even does a free day for everyone. sure they don't make the $8,000 dollars they could from tickets but it's made up from cafeteria and rental sales. I just think arresting someone for ski pass fraud is too extreme. Of course the ride to town can be handy sometimes.

Wow that is extreme. Here the "official" policy is that the season pass gets revoked (assuming the pass wasn't stolen), but at most the lifties just won't let you on the chair.

I did something similar a while back but with bindings. What I learned was don't buy expensive stuff when you have been up all night and it is 5am. (But I ended up making money on them when I sold them.)

Maybe it's an Idaho thing My girlfriend let her friend use her pass, and their punishment was just that they were done for the day. She kept her pass and came back the next day like nothing had happened.
