that's me today man, i'm taking the day off...was at Whistler from open till close yesterday and the last hour and a half or so my legs were GONE. of course had to squeeze in one last peak-to-base run which was a bad idea. so today, no go. it's kind of the opposite though, my body says no but my head wants to be up there. ever have one of those kinda days?

those days happens all the time for me. being clumsy and not particularly athletic to begin with, i have taken some major beatings this year learning. some times you need someone to just tell you to stop, cuz that last run you push yourself on is probably the one where you will get the worst wipe outs.

take a day off and watch some random shows on the tube. oh and put your feet up so you can rest and recharge properly.

Gotta be even harder for you when it is both an occupation and hobby.

Check out Mastery, by George Leonard. Short read but packed with insight on the mental game in physical activities that are characterized by large amounts of practice and long plateaus between achievement levels.

The blurb on Amazon makes it sound like some crappy little emo-guide. But for a better idea of the contents read the first few featured reader reviews.

I definitely have off days. I try to stick to freeriding and don't attempt any switch or real jumps when it's like that. For me it's usually from drinking too much too early

Well, this week went much better. Had awesome pow dump on Mt. Hood and was like a typical December day of riding. Got some real breakthrough moments in a riding clinic that are helping already and my jumps were good this week. Had a blast and only hit one tree......
I was going through a very heavily timbered section and did`nt quite get a pivot turn finished in time and slammed my leg into a a small tree mid turn. Left a nice purple bruise..
