homemade rail

Hey guys, I wrote out a huge long DIY post and I'm not too sure what happened but it got deleted, so heres a quick run through of my build. I went to fence factory and got 2 12' pieces of piping and grabbed a bunch of scrap metal from their bin to build the legs and braces. I welded(for my first time ever) the metal square tubing on the bottom of the 2 rails to give them some structural support and welded 1' long legs to the sides of said braces. Welded flat bars of metal across the bottom of the legs, threw some paint on there and waabam, my rail is done! Would rubbing wax on the rail give any benefit to it? i know most resorts are just metal rails so I'm not too sure.. But heres some pics of the build.
