Yeah, it's a big heavy warm storm. Snow levels are scary in a lot of places.

Pray for lots of snow and not lots of rain!

Like I said earlier, "Waiting for the tail end of the storms", likely the end of January. I'll admit it, I'm a snow snob, won't see me riding unless its min of 3" of fresh. That's when I'll bust out the Hovercraft!

Where is everyone seeing this shit from? I love the thought of snow, but every weather report I see doesn't show anything of a big storm moving in. Arrrrrgh

Check Weather.com or NOAA. Depending on the elevation, it could be rain or snow. Most likely the early stuff (Wed, Thur & Fri) will have snow 8K and above. Below 8K it'll be raining during the day, hopefully turning to snow at night. For Sat & Sun it should drop to 6k for snow...

You should be fine since you're staying next Heavenly, believe the peak at Heavenly is near 10K?

I don't really know of any local tahoe blogging/weather sites. but you could try the popular OpenSnow or for basic stuff use weather.gov and poke around at different elevations.

Exactly what we need. Wet, heavy base snow. Dry snow won't help us right now. We have no base

Yeah the cabin we stay at is literally 1/2 mile from heavenly. I can't for the life of me remember what the elevation is right there in town. I'm guessing around 7000 or so.?
