Anyone here telemark and snowboard?

So I've been boarding for 14 years, almost switched back to skiing this year because all of my friends ski. I demoed a few different alpine setups and was doing blacks my first day out on skis in 14 years... it was kind of boring. I'm really thinking about trying out telemarking now though. I'll still snowboard but I think telemark will offer me a challenge. Anyone here do both?

Nick

Telemarking looks crazy difficult on the chopped up, or even steep stuff. I'd imagine it'd be a challenge alright. I see people at my local heading for the corduroy mostly

Two things. Most people I see tele are all about the deep pow. A couple people I have toured with before are on tele skis and they rip it up in the steep and deep. Easy to get face shots

Also get a split you can work on your tele turns on short downhills when you are still on the approach. On the board Kyle Miller makes some pretty dang good tele turns with his split.

I've tried telemarking and I can tell if a challenge you want, a challenge you will get. I hopping to get back on a pair this winter sometime. Might as well be a triple threat. Plus once you get it down your overall balance should improve which can only help your boarding.

Sweet just got a great deal on some slightly used black diamond Verdicts with Targa G3 bindings. Gotta find some boots on the cheap now!
