Exactly a year ago, I stepped on a snowboard for the first time.
I had no skateboarding, wakeboarding, surfing, longboarding experience whatsoever. I'm lying, I stepped once on a skateboard and almost broke my neck. Neither to say, I stuck through all the falling, sliding, sore tailbones, chipped teeth, and mild concussions and now I'm finally able to enjoy the mountains. I'm in the second season, and I feel like I'm getting better everyday. For all you other rookies, do you feel the same way? Here's my little clip for this month, filmed last week. No super tricks , just some riding and a good song. Tell me whacha think. On that note, I'd also like to thank everybody on this forum for the help, good topics, and funny times spent here… I'm really excited for the seasons to come and look back on this video and laugh, after I master all the other stuff.

If you can scare yourself once a day on a snowboard you'll progress.

Yeah, that's Cypress, about 20 minutes from downtown Vancouver. It's pretty sweet, we're very lucky to have these local mountains so close. As for the snow, you have to hunt for it a little, as the runs get ruined fast.
Being creative is always good if you want to find the good stuff. And you don't have to go deep in the woods either, it's all inbounds stuff.

Nice Video and + 1 for the White Stripes
Yeah, it's awesome getting better. I've been skiing/riding for 16 years now and I still get excited when I learn stuff! Stupid Boss wouldn't lay me off for the winter this year.. so I can only make it up on the weekends.. If we get a powder day I can convice him to call work usually.
