Seriously, I know we have been the envy of many places for our snowfall this year, which is DEFINITELY above average, but it is getting ridiculous! February is historically the snowiest month, and here we are on February 1st with up to a METER of accumulation already! Where I am it is currently falling at 2 inches/ hour with no end in sight until the storm passes on Feb 3rd. IF you can even get to some of the ski areas in these conditions, the snow will be so deep, back country snowboarding is becoming nearly impossible!! Everyday I check Hakkoda Ropeway's website it always has 2 feet of fresh. Feel free to come over and track this stuff out, we are drowning!!!

I wonder if I should go to Shimokura & Amihari this weekend instead. Hakkoda definitely has got like 12x more snow but I don't know if the other two will be fresh the week after. I've been wanting to check those places out. Finally some snow in Iwate!

Seriously I might just need a snowmobile to get to work tomorrow. as I speak we are getting pounded like I have never experienced ANYWHERE in the world. 6 inches literally just farted onto the ground in 2 hours. Wind is a steady 50MPH and they say we have 2 more days of this!! I just found an updated story on ABC News.
