local snowboard shops

Do you guys think that a local store would order in a board for me to buy? For example, if they were out of stock in a NeverSummer Proto CT, would they be willing to tell their NS rep to bring in a board so that I can buy it from them? I want to order here because if I buy boots, bindings, and snowboard here all at once I get 20% off purchase, I would be supporting a local store, and it would be easier for warranty here. What do you think? Should I ask them to order in a Proto? Or should I just suck it up and buy an Evo even though it's a little more park than my riding style suggests?

If they are like my local store normally what they have is all they will get and won't be able to order any more boards. However it doesn't hurt to ask

Local stores carry specific lines of boards - it's just the way the SB retail business works. If they don't carry the NS line, it's unlikely they will be able to order it for you (but if they do carry NS and are just out, they might).

NS sells through their shit pretty much immediately. A shop isn't going to be able to get replenished, especially not this late.

Can't say anything about Never Summer, but my local snowboard shop (The Boardroom) was able to order me hard-to-find parts for my Ride bindings and other things, which is pretty great. All it took was one email asking for said part and I was directed to someone who was able to purchase the parts directly from Ride for me.

Just try and asking the shop, I'm sure they'll be happy to order stuff from their reps as long as they have your business.

yeah the NeverSummer rep for the shop actually lives with one of the coworkers, so they're pretty close. Maybe they can get it for me because they DO stock NeverSummer.

Your best answer would come from your local shop. They might be able to get one for you but I would not say for sure. They might be able to trade out one from their current stock for one from another shop for you. The faster you ask your shop the better chance you have of them locating one for you since the pickings are very slim right now.

The season is almost upon us!!!!
