craigslist vouchers

I live the Northeast and there seems to be people on Craigslist selling day vouchers for like 40-50% off normal lift ticket prices. Has anyone ever bought these? Always a little hesitant when buying from Craigslist. Any input?

It's a little early in the season, but Craigslist and Kijiji will be filled with ads soon.

Around here, there are tons of company/department ski clubs that organize discounted group buys for various places in the pre-season.

Around late Feb/early Mar, lots of people realize that they've only used 2 or 3 of the 8 passes they bought and the season will probably end before they can use the rest. They often unload them for face value. After March break, you'll see people selling them in the parking lot.

I regularly use Craigslist to find discounted lift tickets and vouchers to resorts that I do not have a season pass for. I am yet to run into a problem.

my brother has purchased several vouchers off craigslist for me, it has always worked, so not a scam.
the trick is to never pay cash, pay with paypal. not exactly sure how it works but i believe pay pal has fraud protection where you can dispute the charges and you will receive a refund from payal (not the seller) if there is a dispute.
