Sometimes the best threads are the ones that go off in a crazy direction.

If you wanna travel to a legit beach then head to Tahiti, that is one awesome place, and if you like surfing hit up Bali and Australia. I agree that doing things when you are younger is great when you have no family responsibilities, but seriously if anyone thinks you can't do exciting/adventurous/crazy/exhilarating things when you are older (i mean 30+) you are nuts. Shit i boarded in Las vegas before xmas and there was a skier who was 92 tearing up the mountain.

Im not 30 yet but i plan on doing shit like surfing snowboarding skydiving hiking snorkelling scuba etc etc etc until i die. And as far as trying to leave a mark on this world, thats what i think is LAME just do what makes you happy, anyone who is trying to be extreme or adventurous so that others remember them that way is missing the big picture, live your life the way you want cos it makes YOU happy (and your wife/kids/family), don't live it to be remembered.

In doing this you will probably be remembered more for your personality than your actions, Just my opinion thats all

my names's Petey and i have gigantic balls

Are you kidding me? A 30# pack and 14 miles isn't that monumental. I'm 44 and in better shape now than when I was 24! The main thing is I now have enough time and money to work out and do stuff that I wasn't able to when I was younger. Take care of your body and you can be active well past 40.

I'm the opposite. Most my vacations will be snowboarding/adventure related. I didnt start snowboarding until last year, so I've already spent a lot of time and traveled a large portion of the world and I'm not even 30. Like hikeswithdogs said, I'm going to put my body through lots of crazy shit while I still can.

It's cool seeing all the places in Europe/Australia/SAmerica or chilling on a beach, but imo there is no better way to get away from the workplace than to hurl yourself down a mountain.

^^^ Really with the smart ass response? His girl is pretty dang cool. You won't find many girls who have never gone backpacking before and commit to a week of it. I find that awesome about his girl. They're both cool people and clearly you wish your girl was into more things you were.

LOL no hard feelings it's all good, it's just a topic I'm very passionate about(so sorry if I sounded like an asshole) because I didn't start getting "core" with snowboarding\backpacking\canoeing\backcountry until my mid\late 20's(Took me that long to figure out what I wanted out of life) and I REALLY regret it but hey by staying healthy and in shape(and avoiding having kids) I plan on sticking with it until my late 50's early 60's. Shit I just got my first Splitboard Friday!

Holy shit mad people getting upset. I'm just assuming I'll have broken my body in some form by the time of 40 that I will be in no shape to jump out of a plane anymore or whatever it may be.

Missing the 2011-12 ski season D:
