Default Snowboard photographers

Are there any snowboard photographers?

If so, what's in your bag?

That little thing is dope. I may have to check one of those out one day.

Too bad it's film

I'm looking at getting some new lenses this year (replacing the 70-200/4L mostly) and something on the wider end as well.

I shoot a Canon 20D atm with a 430EX.

I've actually never shot (other than snapshots of the wife) snowboarding but am working on getting with some folks from this forum in my area to shoot some action shots. I've been neglecting my photography hobby ever since I took up snowboarding this season. My kit is:
Nikon D70
Nikon D200 (with MB-D200 grip)
18-70mm Kit lens
70-200mm F2.8
85mm f1.4
180mm f2.8
50mm f1.4
300mm f4.5
24mm f2.8
SB-800

If you guys have a flickr account, I'd love to see some of your shots so how about putting your link in your post. I'm not a skateboarder, but the guys at the local park let me get some shots one day

Replace the 70-200 f4??? why? You want to upgrade to the 2.8 or somethin? The 4 is so nice and light, best telephoto on a crop body in my opinion. I still run a Canon 350D with the 17-40 f4, 50 f1.8, and 70-200 f4. I'm lacking some on the ultra-wide end, but panos cover the poster landscapes and I'm mostly a telephoto guy anyways. I find that on the slopes with the sun reflecting off the snow, I don't need the light gathering of a 2.8, unless it's at night, in which case I'll go with the nifty fifty.
Shepherd, I have done the same and almost abandoned photography since snowboarding season started, but now that it's over for me, I'm hoping to get back into shooting.

I have been limited by F4 in previous shootings and prefer the weight of the 2.8 as well. All a matter of preference. I'm not upgrading the 70-200 solely for shooting snowboarding, but it will be used.

For P&S cameras - do you guys just carry it around in a jacket pocket or use a pouch/case/backpack?

When I mentioned just getting the odd snapshot of the wife on her snowboard, it is with a SD750 that can just be carried in the jacket pocket. They work great for the odd shot, but for getting shots of boarders in action I have a hard time because of the lag time.

Joey, thanks for the link. That's a cools shot of the paint ball exploding.

TNT, I didn't think I'd ever not be taking photos regularly but snowboarding has become my main passion.
