Alright so this has been my first year snowboarding and i just went.up to a resort today an i go down a couple runs (live in the midwesr by tha way wisconsin) an my board starts too feel slow so i go to the rental shorp And ask whats up they CLeans my base with a base cleaner and send me on my way go down the hill like once.an.its.slow.agqin is there any too prevent this like.a .certain wax or anything i know its from contamints from snow thats about it. Please.help!!

Uhhhhh, was it above freezing out? If so it's just what spring boarding is like. Wet snow is much slower than colder "dry" snow. You can use a warm temp wax to help but it's not going to make a big difference. Stay on an edge instead of your base, and go hit some steeper runs.

Yep, it's all the gunk in the snow left behind from the cats. I do a hot scrape instead of a base clean.

soft snow comes with spring skiing and its just going to be sticky and slow. you really have to adjust accordingly because you simply dont build up the speed on snow like that. a spring wax may help, but its still not going to be as good as it is when its 15 and snowing.

I was at Granite Peak in Wisconsin all weekend and had the same shit. Felt like I was boarding on a sno-cone. Even towards the bottom of some of the blue runs I was almost completely out of speed, even being on edge almost exclusively. The warmer it got, the worse things were. Nothing you can do about it.
