What makes up a snowboarder?

Alright so my friends and I always do this about sports... what makes up a snowboarder? Personally I think snowboarding is 80% balls 10% skill 10% flow. What makes up a snowboarder in your opinion?

100% love of the sport. Some that only wants to ride to have fun and just enjoys being out on the hill. Some people enjoying hitting fresh pow so enjoy throwing down on a handrail but all that matters is they do it for fun and that's what snowboardings about.

95% mind set and 5% athleticism

I hope this goes better than my thread about the article written by Ken Achenbach.

Hmmmm:

65% oxygen
18% carbon
10% hydrogen
3% nitrogen
4% everything else... btw gotta love wiki! :cheeky4:

Seriously though, I think you guys are putting balls and mindset way ahead of things like knowledge/training/experience (the things that make people competent in the occupational health and safety world). On the other hand I tend to ride noticably tamer if nobody's watching, so I guess at some level it's balls/adrenaline/outright flaming attention whoring.

I know there are times of the year and times of the day that my head is ahead of my body, I've got the skill but the muscles don't do what the head tells them to anymore, and sometimes it's the other way around. I know after 20 years I should be totally comfortable blasting huge air in the park. In the powder bowls I do it off natural features without hesitation, but my mind has some sort of block on big kickers. Guess I gotta work on the balls. :D

^^^^^^ " What this guy said!!!"

Besides Snowboarding, the ONLY other thing I've ever done that takes everything in my life that might be working on my mind, F'ing with my head, etc. etc. Is hitting the road on the Harley!!
Whenever I'm riding (the snow or the road) there isn't ANYTHING that intrudes on the sheer Exhilaration, Joy, Fun, Excitement, & Yes,.. even Fear of imminent injury or death!!!

For Me? Snowboarding,.. It is the ULTIMATE,.. in "Living IN the Moment"!!! (...Thus Endeth the Sermon!!) ;) :D

Balls will only get you so far. I'd rate common sense over balls any day of the week. :p

Love of the sport is definitely up there... but I mean. Who snowboards when they don't want too? o.O
