Only worth $10k?

Seems like it would almost take more than $10k worth of labor to dig that thing up and haul it off. I've dug up fence posts before and that is a real pain, so I have to believe digging up chair lift posts is a serious effort

Chairlift towers are generally secured to cement pads that weigh tons. I doubt they dug them up. Taking the tower in itself blows my mind. All you have to do to remove the tower is loosen a few nuts, have a crane, a flat bed truck, maybe a helicopter, and so on...

It's an impressive feat, I am thinking some ski area or government types had to be in on this one.

I guess you pay off the summer security guard and then wear overalls with "Bob's Lift Service" on them.

In the days before 911/building security, government offices used to have hundred's of laptops stolen off desks each year by guys doing the same thing.

I agree with killclimbz. Something fishy with this one. You'd have a whole team of workaholic ninjas to pull of such a heist.

really though if you can get away with stealing an entire lift why not put your skills to better use and steal something more valuable like cash or diamonds

Hahaha give it too our mountain Big Boulder lol I just cant figure out how they were able to pull it off. The noise and time and machinery that would be necessary for something like that is unreal. Not to mention that its not too easy to just "drive away" with a stolen lift. And no one heard the noise of heavy machines? There is no security cams?
