From when I was there last time they really only have one park open. If you are looking at the trail map the left side of the mountain was pretty much closed. It's my understanding that they just closed the pipe also.

I was there this past weekend. A lot of fun still to be had there. Top to bottom is still open with limited terrain, the current hours are 730am to 2pm. The gondola will be open on the weekend, but is closed during the week. The park is pretty sparse- one jump with two different lips for bigger and small air and there are still a few boxes and rails. Half pipe is dirt. I lapped the upper half of the mountain most of the day. The top runs are spring corn snow and get pushed into mogul piles of slush by noon, but still easy enough to ride through, turn on or jump off. Some areas of some runs have some pretty thin coverage, and the lower half that's open gets pretty sticky as the day goes on. A warm temp wax is definitely worth it. The crew is pushing snow around to the ridable areas and are salting / grooming everyday. It was high 50s on top during the day and low/mid 60s mid to lower mountain. Chance of snow showers in the extended forecast on fri.
I'm probably headed back this weekend (last day open is Memorial Day), if you go lemme know if you want to meet up for some turns. |

yeah, I should be taking it easy too. I did something very gnarly to my left hand last weekend, it's kinda swollen and purple it's a holiday weekend but it's been a messed up season as we all know so probably nothing really cheap. Out of all the cheap hotels Ive stayed in I think Sierra Lodge was my favorite. (Which is different the the Sierra Nevada Lodge. Also nice but more pricey.) They have a fridge and microwave in the room and hot coffee and 'breakfast' ready at 630am. I stayed for a week last season. Travel Lodge (or econolodge? both?) is (are) sleazy but it is the cheapest place in town. I've paid 45 bux a on a weeknight week felt ripped off if you know what I mean. Never stayed at the motel 6 in town but hear it's the nicer of the cheap chain motels. there's always the condo thing, since it's almost always just me i;ve never looked into that. if you need lift tickets too, check the website. they probably have some ticket and lodging deals miiiight be reasonable Last edited by mixie; 05-23-2012 at 12:03 AM. Reason: wrong hotel I think |

well, it's not bad today. Think i can get by w/o a doc visit. It's pretty horrible looking thought. Pinkie and ring finger are swollen and black. Half of the palm of my hand is purple and the back of my hand is all puffy. I jammed it pretty fucking good-- my wrist and shoulder feel like someone tried to tear my arm off. No yoga or serious bike riding for awhile. as long as I don't use those fingers Im ok. I kinda wish it DID hurt more. I keep hitting the Shift key with my pinkie and THAT is enough pain to make me see spots!! |
