Nobody dreams of going to the east coast for snowboarding.

Do the drive. Might take you two, or 3 days. My wife, small petite wife, drove San Diego to Denver by herself. Then down to Texas. For work. Drive 10-12 hours. Frequent rests (to rest the eyes and brain) and do it.
