Any intel on what is expected this season in the pnw?
My non-scientific gut feeling is ... Same as last year. So pretty good. Any news yet?

Might snow, might not snow, the snow that does fall will be heavy and wet, the sun will shine occasionally but mostly grey skies, people will die, and as always Vancouver will remain named Hongcouver!

I always obsessively check this Mount Seymour 6 Day Snow Forecast & Skiing Weather for 1265 m around this time of year. Right now it's looking better than last year -- freezing level was still way the hell up there last mid-october. So here's hoping.
BTW, I thought last year sucked in Vancouver. Where you riding?

Cypress mostly and whistler. Last year lots of heavy snow but if it was just 1or 2 degrees colder it would have gone from pretty good to epic.
Sucked?

Last year, we had an really good november and early december, then it was really dry for most december and January, and then as always picked up into an amazing spring.
The local mountains were definitely hurting for more base throughout december/january, but I wouldn't say the season sucked, especially given what our friends to the south were going through. |
