Allowed to bend boards?

I was looking at the Youtube THE-HOUSE.COM videos on "How To Buy a Snowboard?".

Actually I already bought my board and stuff last season but almost everything was picked at the recommendation of the sales attendant. On retrospect I did not even think of bending any of the boards to test the flex in the shop.

Did any of you actually go as far as, or dare, bending the boards in the shop like the guy in the video did?

Yup, I always do that to check the board's stiffness.
I've never gotten a board to flex as much as the guy in the video, but I'm usually looking at stiff boards.
Actually, the sales person usually does that in front of you to show the board's flex. You didn't have that happen when you bought your board?

That guy is a pussy if you're going to bend your board straddle that fucker between your legs and put all your weight into it!

I try to avoid buying a board online just for that reason. Unless of course I can find it in person, see how stiff or buttery it is and then pick it up online. Good to know if you're getting a plank or a wet noodle.

No I did not. Even if I had bent it, I wouldn't have bent it as much as he did. Next time round I buy a board, I think I might. But I think I would step on it and bend as much as he did only if I have already paid for it.
