Talking Your Proudest Riding Moment

Be it nailing a trick, surfing the powder, layin' down that soul carve, blazing an awesome new glade, bombing that black, or just moving off the bunny slopes for the first time. Mine would have to be nailing the method. There was a roller next to that fateful kicker, and someone was standing on it. I get in the air, nail that method, and look at them in the air, she looks back, and all I can think is "yeah".
PRETTY DAMN CHEESY but totally true. Post yours so I stop feeling like a sap, ASAP.

This friday had to be my finest snowboarding day...My first day of boarding was 12/20 of this year...4/11 was my 36th birthday and was an epic day with for real waist deep snow on Mary Jane is many parts...I rode the deep powder, rode some of the harder tree runs, and rode a few of the chutes they have there. I kept up with my buddies who have ridden for about 10 years and skied before that. I also dropped some big cliffs and hit some jumps bigger than I had previously. I pretty much can ride the whole mountain at this point and my season could not have ended on a better weekend...I was really amazed that I could carve more than jump turn down the chutes...Freakin awesome year...Ben

Mine would have to be riding super deep powder underneath a chairlift and having people cheering and yelling at me got me so pumped up. Also my other one was landing a huge 180 and having people watching me land it.

This past season I took a snowboarding course for 1 credit at my university. We had one lesson each week, and I was in the freestyle group along with about 13-15 others. About the 3rd week in, the instructor had us all attempt a 360 off a small roller, but he said, if you don't think you can get the 3, just go for a 180. Not a single one of us landed it. Most kids didn't even try spinning all the way around. Pretty much everyone except a couple kids just went for a 180 but fell anyway.

After falling I was pretty determined to teach myself how to do it. I went the following saturday and just practiced on that roller over and over again. Finally nailed it. Started getting really comfortable with it. The next lesson, the instructor had us all try it again. Sitting on the slope, everyone was nervous and didn't want to go, they all tried letting other people go ahead of them. I ended up going second, and I nailed a bs360. It felt amazing, especially because I was the only one in the group who landed it.

The most stoked I felt snowboarding was being able to really carve for the first time. Looking back and seeing the pencil thin line and the feeling of the board edge just hooking up is incredible. I only wish I could carve more consistently!
