Found it on YoBeat. What do you think? Honestly, I agree with the author - but to a point. Fashion has definitely become a focal point for the snowboarding biz. You ain't a good rider unless you look like one right? HA.

I see it all the time on the hill - the swag, the uber baggy pants, the bright Special Blend jacket (nothing against SB, mind you), handkerchief blowing with the wind, beanie under helmet with those platinum mirrored lenses... but the dude can't carve worth a damn. Leafing down the hill, maybe hitting a box thats about 2 feet wide? Please.

At the same time, we're not gonna throw on just any old pair of snowpants. We're not going to wear a pea coat down the hill. I love my Smith I/Os. I used to rock a bright green Special Blend jacket. Do I throw my pant cuff over my high backs? You bet. But that's because I can feel the cuff pressing against my calf if I don't...and I don't like that.

I digress. You tell me what you think.

IMO the kids with bandanas and clothes 3 sizes to big makes me laugh. They look like idiots. To me it's like picking a board based on the graphics. I choose my clothing based on function.

I don't see what's wrong with bandanas since I use one to keep my neck and face from freezing but the baggy clothes I can agree 100% especially some of those park rats who spend all there day in the park and yet can hardly board slide and talk shit telling me I suck because I can't do a board slide with steezy ppl sometimes just sicken me...

I don't know where people run into these park rats that go up to other riders in the park and talk crap. I've never seen or had this happen to me before.

I haven't been in snowboarding thing for a long time but I know people well enough and someone who where's baggy clothes like that is a poser

and I bet they're mommy buys all of it for them, or they steal it like gunnar thorngren
They they act like a badass and then talk shit on here because in reality if they did it to someone's face, they would get decked

I also agree, skiers do it more then snowboarders...
