Just came across this photo from this last summer. Our Gypsy camp on Gypsy Island- Mt Hood Oregon summer sessions.

We had 12 of these hammocks hanging in the trees for almost 12 days until the forest service caught us and told us to fuck off and die or get a huge fine.

Pretty sure you're allowed 14 consecutive days at the same camp on national forest land. Sounds like you might have been camping somewhere you weren't supposed to.

Most of these are Eagle Nest Outfitter hammocks (ENO.) they are sold at REI and run about $80, I suggets the double. We were camping in a spot that is a no go and we knew it but it's a far-out spot. They just keep an eye on it, we were pretty stealth with hammock city, but one morning as we were hiking out to ride we were asked if we were camping out by a hiker and he called in the Ranger.

So much for the land of the free. Then again they had no problem telling the Native Americans to get the fuck off there own land so what do you expect.
