I've worn a helmet since I started riding. Last night my buddy that i've ridden with for a couple seasons on and off says to me, "when did you start wearing a helmet?"... he never even noticed. Cool friends eh

I have a Salomon Patrol helmet. I think it looks pretty darn good on me.

I think a lot of people don't wear helmets particularly because they look (and feel) a little weird. Honestly, I only use mine when I'm riding park or backcountry and I know I'm going to be seriously pushing my abilities or possibly being inverted.

If you have a helmet why not wear it all the time? Because you feel dorky? You'll look a lot more goofy when your mom is feeding you baby food. ![]() Not trying to start shit. I was the idiot who didn't wear mine because it didn't look cool. And the day I was taking it easy is the day I wrecked myself. Just hoping people learn from me so they don't experience the shit I had to live through.

I bought a Smith Varient helmet this year. It's a tight fitting sleek design and I think it looks great. Last year I had a Burton Red. Both look nice but the smith fits nicer and looks much better.
I have too much to lose in the name of looking good, not to wear a helmet. Besides...I probably look just as stupid without one as I do with one.

The hardest hit I have ever taken to my head was on the plate ice when unloading chair 8 in vail. Someone caught my board withe their ski pole and it took my board out. It dazed me with my helmet. Without it, who knows. I had less dizziness when I got smacked with a 2x4 in a brawl once though.
I ride that chair 6-7 times a day about 5 days a week..... I always wear a helmet. I'd rather look stupid than be stupid. These days your in a major minority if your not wearing a helmet. |
